There are somethings that run on Windows and not Linux. Windows hosting will support ASP / ASP.net and MSSQL where as currently Linux will not. If you need the listed applications then select a Windows hosting package, if not choose Linux.

A: Yes you can view your website by the IP address of the server, simply enter into the address bar
The server ip should be that of the server on which your website is hosted, and the username the same as the one you use for cPanel. Domain propagation usually takes 24-48 hours.
Q: Is there a maximum number of scripts i can have on my site?
A: There is no limit on the number of scripts you are allowed to host, however any scripts that overuse the servers CPU and other resources will be removed.
